GlideUnderground has just posted an interview with Phillip Bergman of Transmeta. He discusses several interesting things about his company, here's a snippet:

What are your future speed hopes for new processors in development?

Our focus is on extended battery life with sound performance/speed. We believe the focus on speed is misguided. It's like trying to make a car that drives 100 miles per hour, though you would rarely drive it that fast. To continue the analogy, we'd rather build a car that drives extremely well at 60-80 miles per hour and gets very good gas mileage (battery life).
