TweakTownhas reviewed the Iwill KA266-R DDR motherboard, which is based on the ALI MAGiK 1 DDR chipset with support for the AMD Athlon processor, the Mobile AMD Athlon processor. There was a few diffrent benchmarking tests, such as, SiSoft Sandra 2001, Quake 3 Arena and 3DMark2000 to show how much faster DDR is over SDR. Here is a snippet from the review: The KA266-R is a very limited board for overclocking. While it does have a set of 4 jumper caps for setting the CPU multiplier there is no Vcore or Vio voltage adjustments. This means that you are stuck with your CPU's default voltage setup and means very limited overclocking of the FSB with no Vio and limited overclocking of the CPU with no Vcore adjustments. FSB settings are jumperless and are set through BIOS. Iwill have informed us that the reason they have very little overclocking options is that these boards are designed for stability not overclockability, but hay, isn't that what we are all here for?Read on here. |
