HardwareOC has a article up about normal, everyday heatsinks. There is an extreme to cooling with heatsinks and HardwareOC takes a look at some offered by the OCZ Store. HardwareOC takes a look at the Alhpa 6035, Thermaltake Super Orb, Dual Delta Monster II, Quad Cooler, and the Monster II. Here is a snippet from the article:
Well it stands that more air flow equals better cooling, but at the cost of your precious ears. Your best bet is to go with something in the middle. The Quad Cooler, Monster II and Alpha 6035 are probably the best out there without making you go deaf. The Socket A coolers will probably be the loudest things in your case so you might want to consider the noise level there will be. With your other case fans, SCSI drives and cd-roms the noise level could reach monstrous levels!
