Microsoft has released a press release today outlining the names of some upcoming software. The OS currently codenamed "Whistler" will become Windows XP and the version of Office currently called "Office 10" will be named Office XP. The 'XP' portion of the names is short of 'experience' which in my opinion is a horrible OS name. Oh well, they didn't ask me :-) Regardless of the goofy name, Windows XP is going to be nice. It is MS's latest OS for home and business users and marks the end of the Win9x kernal by being based on the Windows 2000 kernal. More details about Windows XP are supposed to be released on Feb. 13th by Microsoft. Stay tuned...
