 Biodegradable BB's?

I'm into paintballing, but am attracted to Airsoft. A paintballer friend's objection is that the BB's in AirSoft aren't biodegradable, so animals might eat them and get sick or die. Can you buy biodegradable BB's for Airsoft guns (like the 6mm paintballs...are you sure they won't work for AEG's?)? Can someone make a big issue out of this with the powers that be so that they will start selling environment friendly BB's?

oh, but they do have those biodegradeable BBs, you can order em... find a vender, and ask them. ------------------

Of course there are biodegradalbe BB's. The brand name is Excel, and come in .2 and .25 grams. I believe they're made out of cornstarch... A note on the animal eating them bit. These things are small, white, and definently not naturally occuring. With exception of possibly chipmunks, a 6mm bb will easily pass through a digestive tract with minimal pain/discomfort/death/probably won't notice... The only BB type that an AEG cannot fire are the paintballs. And while I haven't tried it yet with my MP5, I can't really see why it wouldn't work. My team uses Excel's only, simply because they are biodegradable, and very high quality at that. You should beable to get them just about anywhere.... Kevin ------------------

Dont use Paintball BB's in any AEG. The gearing and even the magazine with crush them and pop them and they will get all over your internals and then your gun will be sooooo screwed. You'd have to go in there and clean every little part thats in there. ------------------

I myself have swallowed countless non-biodegradable bbs, and no side effects are noted. *Scratches the horn growing out of his forehead* ------------------
