If you liked the fast paced action of the original Red Alert then you should get Red Alert 2. There are so many ways to play this game it's not even funny. The game play is very balanced, meaning that every thing can be killed by something else. The best part about RA2 is the multiplayer though. It has sooo many new options for multiplayer, like "unholy alliance" which starts you off with both a Allied and a Soviet MCV. Then the carnage begins Each country has its own specific untit too. For example the Americans have to paratroopers, Cuba has a terrorist and the french has a sniper. I played RA2 on my home network with a friend and all of a sudden 4 hours passed by. It seemed like 30 minutes really. We allied with each other then took on two computer controlled countries and annhialated them both. With the ability to garrison civilian buildings a regular multiplayer game becomes a big turf war with the battle having so many turning points it is not even funny. I SERIOUSLY LOVE THIS GAME. I only wish I had more than 2 computers on my home network and on a side note the modem play on westwood online isnt that bad at all, its even playable
