Squaresoft has lost money this financial quarter, for the first time in the company's history. This loss can most likely be attributed to the large amounts of money Square spent on the PlayOnline network and the Final Fantasy movie. In response to this loss, three Square executives have given up their jobs for lower positions; apparently their way of punishing themselves for the company's losses. The company's president and CEO have both resigned for lower occupations, and even Final Fantasy creator Hironbu Sakaguchi is giving up his place as Vice President.
