Hehehe, many readers, and you know who you are enjoy playing "burned" games and doing all this illegal crap. Well, you guys and gals, have a new enemy, Apple. Apple will begin to incorporate "Anti-Piracy" software in the PS2 HDD. A spokesman from Apple had these very "smart ass" words to say,
| We have decided to incorporate a software program within the PortoMac's operating system. This new program will transmit data from each and every PlayStation 2 providing us with information on the system's owner, serial number, bar code, credit card information, parental information, location of the system on Earth.. Oops.. Gave too much away.. "When the operating system boots up, an initial scan will take place just to see whether or not the software within the console is really authentic or not. A secondary scan will be able to determine whether or not a mod chip really exists in the console."
|
He then added some more crap,
| "Because the anti-piracy scanning program will be readily updated during each and every internet connection, we hope to nail anyone who would happen to utilize such illegal mod-chip technology in their consoles. "Moreover, once some form of piracy has been detected, their connection to the Internet will be disconnected immediately, and their console will abruptly shut down. We would then contact the local authorities in the area and inform them of the situation in question." |
Hell, I have friends that have these mod chips. Maybe I could get a reward for turning them in. Hehe. Eventually, some nerd will figure something new against this anti-piracy software and history will repeat itself.
