Thanks to GIGN Draco for letting us know that the French version of Urban Ops was also not patched to v2.52 out of the box and was indeed released as v2.50. We've also been informed the same "work-arounds" that work for the UK version will work for the French version. This does involve hacking the registry, which is a very risky thing to do for your average user, and we at the RS Retreat do not officially endorse this practice for various support and legal reasons ;-) We did mention the "work-arounds" in our news as a service to our fellow European gamers because we've heard many complaints that they are not able to join multiplayer (MS Zone games etc.) over in North America. i advise every1 not 2 try the registry hack since now zone doesn't work even if i install zone,RS,CO,UO again.also when u do use the work around all it seems 2 do is make UO crash, on gamespy i was decieved at first coz i found a european host that i thought was american but when i went 2 zone with americans UO crashed b4 joining. TY 4 making my zone not work and fooking up RS,UO,CO so i had 2 reinstall them. i have been trying al day 2 get zone bak but i have reinstalled everything and that doesn't work i am looking at the registry hack now and there's alot of stuff there when only the language should have been changed it is likly that this error was caused by a "typo" not n e thing malicious still i thought it had been TESTED but obviously not that much. ------------------

also RS retreat did warn ppl so none of this is there fualt at all, i personally blame vlad 4 saying his work around worked and on reading things after he told ppl 2 use his reg hack even though he said it was 4 the UK version of UO it seems 2 be 4 the UK version of RS and 4 the US version of UO. obviously i am really p!ssed off about having 2 format my harddrive and if n e 1 can fix this plz tell. ------------------

I tried the reg hack on both combinations of UO&RS on 6 different machines....why should your be so different? If you'd email me i would have helped you put your pc back to the settings it was. As for zone not working hey it works fine for me and others so why again are you so different? Maybe it is just your machine if anyone else has probs with the patch i have updated the reg hack to include instructions on how to restore the original reg settings for RS&UO. As the disclaimer says -RSE,RSRetreat,3DRetreat network take no responsability for any damage caused by using this workaround. As a part of the 3D Retreat network i am covered. ------------------

I have tested it further at my office 15+ machines and i still get no problems maybe it WAS just your PC. As i've had no more complaints. ------------------

i fixed it but involved uninstalling RS and UO again then deleting all registry entries. also why would it be only my pc i think u are wild guessing also in hte disclaimer yours is kinda different 2 CR6's with no mention of network it only says RS retreat, 3dretreat and RSE. i dont no why u'd need a disclaimer what am i going 2 do sue u. also its not my pc messing up its your registry hack that has changed something that zone uses. ------------------

In the US they like to take ppl to court...i dont wanna go there...i'm not wild guessing your the only complaint i had. As for the disclaimer it is different from the RSRetreat disclaimer because it is the revised version and it covers ME personally, RSRetreat and the 3Dretreat network as a whole. ------------------

Hi everyone and Happy new year  AJ it is surely weird that more than a hundred users I know personaly applied the hack without the slightest problem and you not. I apologize in the case this hack messed your comp but its more likely you did something wrong wich messed up your PC. Thats unfortunate. Anyway you cant blame RS Retreat to try to help people and they surely do it very well. Good luck to find your problem, and thank you Vlad for your great work. ------------------
