If you've been following the Black Thorn forums over the past five days, you would have seen this petition by many fans protesting the delayed release of BT. Ubi Soft Community Manager, Chris "Vosx" Mancil, has posted a reply on the official Black Thorn site today. Here's a snip:A Message to the Rainbow Six / Rogue Spear Community [...] A number of you have been protesting about the decision to delay Black Thorn. Please believe us when we say that this decision was not taken lightly. In regards to the events of Sept. 11th, we felt that October 9th 2001 was not the right time to release this title due to some of the content of the game, and out of respect for those affected by these events. Rogue Spear: Black Thorn will still be released this year and we are in the process of firming a final release date. In addition, we want to make it clear that modifying content does not mean abandoning the elements that made Rainbow Six so successful. As we stated in our press release announcing the postponement of Black Thorn, we believe the game features a very strong moral component and realistic portrayal of the fight against terrorism. As a developer and publisher, we stand behind these games and have no intention of weakening their content.
