:: Netgear Ethernet to Phone Line Bridge
  Installation
Installation of the Bridge posed no problem. The instructions seem to be clear and should pose no problem for the novice. To outline the basic steps, I:
  1. Connected the AC adapter to the Bridge
  2. Connected the Cat-5 cable coming from my cable modem to the Bridge,
  3. Connected the supplied RJ-11 phone line cable to the appropriate Bridge Jack.

It's basically that simply. I believe the only thing that could pose a problem for some is if they are connecting the Bridge to a hub or router. They will then have to adjust the uplink/normal button for the Bridge to function properly. To determine if the uplink/normal button needs to be adjusted, simply look at the LED lights over your Ethernet connection. If they display 100M or 10M, it should be fine. If not, try depressing the button and see if they come on.

Best of all there is no software to install or configure.

Conclusion
The Netgear Ethernet to Phone Line Bridge is a great product for all consumers wanting to establish a home network with minimal work. As mentioned, the installation of the Bridge is very simple and will have your network up and ready in no time. Despite the lower speed of transfer, I believe it well makes up for it and more with the ease of installation and not having to pull out the ladder and tools.

When you purchase this product, remember to grab a Netgear Phone Line 10X adapter card for each computer you want to connect.
