After telling you about the specs, design, and the sound quality, I hope you have enjoys this review as much as I have reviewing the Rio Volt. WOW is all I have to say. I had a lot of fun reviewing this since it was my first MP3/CD player that I have had my hands on. The Rio Volt overall is a very good product if your in the market for a light, reliable, and durable MP3/CD player.

With the firmware updates that you can download, and load on the Rio Volt it makes the Rio Volt a unique player among the rest because you can always update it and make it new, and it can have more options for you. When you first take it out of the box, I would Highly recommend that you go here, and download the newest firmware update, put it on a CD, then put that CD with the firmware update in the Rio Volt, let it read it, and now you have the newest update for your Rio Volt. This option of the firmware update is very nice, and handy. As of this review the most current Firmware update was, v2.00. This version added the following which can be found here:

• The gap between songs is significantly reduced.
• Mechanical noise between songs has been reduced.
• Improved anti-shock during MP3/WMA file loading.
• Quick loading (Fast CD recognition) is implemented (not applicable for packet writing format)
• Volume control level now has option for 40 steps (from 0 to 40)
• User defined EQ mode added.
• Menu items added and better organized

To sum up the whole review of the Rio Volt it is both a great, reliable, and easy to use MP3 and CD player. The Rio Volt the perfect MP3/CD Player to have on long trips in a bus, car or even to have while your walking or running. The 120 second Electronic shock protection will keep your music playing while your enjoying your favorite sport, or activity. So without further ado, the Rio Volt is the best-sounding, easiest-to-use, and best-built MP3/CD-based digital audio player that I have ever used and yet to see on the market. Go out and buy yourself one cause you will enjoy it has much, and even more than I have.

Thank You for the review from the fine people at SONICblue.com, and Rio.
