Gameplay
This is the major factor which made The Sims such a great game! All the effort was to simulate a real person's life, and they surprised
me on how well the game played. It was bewildering having to tell "Little Billy" to study on the "little sim computer" while I hastily
told, "Sue" to use the restroom. Keeping care of sims is like taking care of a
pet. You tell your Sims when they eat, sleep, use the
restroom, and even if they should go to work that day. The gameplay gets awkward when you get a 3rd shift job (work all night, sleep
all day) and attempt to make friends. The game includes a "pause" and "fast forward"
option. It automatically will switch to "fast-forward"
when all of your Sims are asleep or off at work. You must keep your Sims healthy, amused, comfortable, socially active, and full of food
if you want to keep your sim successful in The Sims.
When I finished installing the game and launched it, I was for certain the game was going to have 101 controls that were going to be very
difficult to master and I am happy to report I am so very, very wrong. Even if you decide to immediately dive into the game and not even
briefly glance at the manual, the game is still easy to learn just by playing. When you first load The Sims you will be prompted to click
on a certain house, which is the "tutor house" where it helps you learn all of the games
controls and all the necessary actions needed to
keep your Sims content and happy. The gameplay of this game is most certainly the strongest aspect. The only problem
is that it can get dull after a while but the designers have already thought
ahead and attempted to prevent this problem. At TheSims.Com you can find an
official add-on released every Thurday. These add-ons include new items,
skins, and even patches and help add new life to the game each week.
