Conclusion
You may be sitting at your desk reading this saying to your self, what does this mean to me? Is it a good card? Should I buy it? Should
I buy it for $299? I wish I could give a nice straightforward answer to that, however, I can't. If you have a system better than mine,
then you may want to buy the Voodoo 5 5500, as the performance at high resolutions with FSAA on would be outstanding. If you have my
system or worse, your best bet may be to upgrade you processor first, but hey, if you have the money, buy it now. At times I didn't
notice that great a performance increase from my TNT2-Ultra, on those occasions, I chalked it up to my P3-450 being the bottleneck, not
the V5. Most of the time I did see a great improvement in FPS and in general image quality, especially in Unreal Tournament. The
improvement in RS:UO was noticeable at times, yet wasn't as noticeable as the improvement in UT, this is more probably directly related
to the difference in the two games' 3d engines. Basically it comes down to this: buy the card if you're a hardcore gamer with a fast
system and a p.o.s. video card (e.g. anything ATI), buy the card if you're a gamer with a good video card (TNT 2) and soon to be upgraded
system, and if you're a gamer with a slow system and slow video card, get the card on sale, and pray you get a better system soon.
