Whenever i have the force software option not checked in the graphics menu the recticle never shows up in game. Een if I press F3. But, whenever i have force software turned oon the game runs crappy.

What patch are you running on? And how much of the game did you install e.g. Full, Typical, etc., etc.?

Yup, the out of the box drivers for the G400 max are poo. I had the same problem, so do yourself a favour and go download the 5.30 drivers and turbo GL drivers from Matrox's website. I dont recommend the 5.41 drivers unless you have an Athlon/P3.

I don't understand why u want him to download TurboGL, RS uses D3d anyways....

As for the drivers, 5.41 gives you better performance over 5.30. (tested it out myself)

lastly, you wouldnt happen to have a mod installed that modifies anything would you?

also, you DONT want to run with "force software" on a g400, that keeps it from utilizing all the cool on board features of the video card :-)

turbo GL is quite nice if you have quake 3 and it works with p2/celeron as well as p3/athlon, but the p2/celeron optimized turbo GL only works with 5.30

As for the performance, i had absolutely no gain from 5.41, only a stutter in some 3dmark99 was found after rigorous benchmarking with winbench 2000, winmark99/2000, final reality, fog city, and Viper Racing. So it actually worsened my performance by about .000001%. Ill take the turbo GL with 5.30 thank you.
