Glider
There are 6 gliders to choose from: the Seagull, Sensor, Eagle, Spider, Hawk, and the Thunder. Here's a little info on
each glider:
The Seagull is a medium performance hang-glider. It has good gliding characteristics, good penetration, and it is fitted with two
powerful two stroke engines. The Sensor is a high performance hang glider. It has an excellent climbing rate, and is capable of considerable
speed giving it excellent maneuverability for aerobatic flight. It is recommended for experienced free fliers.
The Sensor is a high performance hang glider. It has an excellent climb and sink rate, and is capable of considerable speed, giving
it excellent maneuverability for aerobatic flight. It is recommended for experienced free fliers.
The Eagle is a motorized paraglider with low penetration performance. This glider is particularly well suited for a pupil's first
step. The glider has a weak aspect, which gives it poor gliding performance, very high stability in turbulence, and is easy to takeoff.
The Spider is a high technology paraglider which has the shape and elongated nature of most of today's gliders. It has a low sink
rate and, therefore, good glide ratio with average penetration.
The Hawk is a high-performance, two-seat glider, intended for competition. It is built of composite materials. A single shell
structure gives it very good flight characteristics and aerobatic performance. It is recommended for touring flights.
The Thunder is a motorized ultra light that is fitted with a powerful engine. This gives it the ability to takeoff on short
runways and also provides impressive performance. This is a top wing ultra light controlled by a three-axis system.
Flight Dynamics
The flight dynamics of Hangsim are pretty good except for a few bugs in the stalling area. But if you ever get into a
stall, you can always deploy a parachute to straighten yourself out. Sometimes when you get into an updraft, the
gliders will act a little shaky. I have never been up in a glider, so I am comparing this simulation to Microsoft's
Flight Simulator 2000.
