Introduction
Olitec is a rather interesting company. I read a little bit up on their background, and it seems that 18-year-old Olivier Lejeune founded the company in 1985. As it turns out though, Olivier ends up dying in a plane crash only a few years later. His mother took over management of the company so that it would not go bankrupt. Originally founded in France, Olitec has grown to other countries. Olitec has been in the US market since 1998 but has just recently entered the Italian and German market. Olitec is a modem manufacturer having manufactured over 805,000 modems in their French factory in 1998 alone. They are also said to be the best selling modem line in Europe. I had honestly never heard of these guys until someone pointed them out to me. I looked at their Total Office Deluxe SmartMemory Modem and thought it would be an interesting item to review. So, on with the show.
