Overall
As a single-player game I find too many things lacking or annoying to recommend this to most gamers. Although you have a total of 74 missions, without any
random generators or instant action, there is very little replay value once you've played both campaigns.
If you want an exploration, open-ended game, play the original Privateer; if you want fast paced knife fights and furious furballs in space, get Starlancer.
If you don't mind paying $40 dollars for the multiplayer aspect, then Tachyon is one you should try.
If you're hard-core about your space sims, look elsewhere unless you are into picking and choosing ships and add-ons for them. Beginners, Tachyon has good
graphics and a lot of eye candy, simple navigation and mediocre combat to ease into and a large number of missions to play. Beware, you probably will be
remapping a lot of key functions and an $8 joystick is not going to cut it if you get serious or into multiplayer gaming.
